Reading Buddy

Under most circumstances, reading and writing are activities that you do alone - or at least, activities that you do more effectively when you're alone. I've attended my share of NaNoWriMo Write-Ins, and I am never so productive or so focused when there are interesting people about to talk to when I should be writing. The same is often true of reading.

So when I'm looking for a reading buddy, usually what I'm actually looking for isn't someone to read with, but someone to discuss the book in question after I'm done reading it (or a section of it). Someone to read it in the same general time frame, but not necessarily someone to sit down with me in a room and read (although that can also be an extremely satisfying experience).

What about you? Do you like having a reading buddy, and if so, what do you want from them? Do you want someone to read with, talk with, talk at, or pick out books with? Or is there something else entirely that you want out of your Reading Buddy that I missed?

Until next time, keep on keeping on. I'll see you next week.
